Search Engines or Social sites?

Is there some questions because we are now in Web 2.0 world, we depend only on search engines for getting traffic to our sites or goes through the social sites also? I think search engines as well as social sites are also benefited to get more traffic to your sites.

If you're asking if you should set up something on a social network to advertise your site, that all depends on your target audience.

If it's a question about if it's done or not, it most certainly is. If you paruse facebook or myspace, you will find several examples very quickly (pages for bands spring first to my mind)
