A few years ago I use to could click on a video link within my web browser and the video would play within the browser itself as depicted in the attached screen shot I posted a similar question on Microsoft’s forum as well hoping someone could explain why this function no longer works I have it checked to play animation in my IE 7 & 8 web browsers but WMP loads standalone when it plays them and not in the browser itself. I hope someone might be able to help.

Have you played around with the activeX option under the security settings? Use firefox myself so know thats a plug in.

I am running windows XP Home edition with service pack 3 and my version of WMP is 11.9.5721.5260

Have you considered uninstalling WMP 11 and going back to WMP 9?
