software to monitor / log internet use
I have a guesthouse and we provide a computer for guests to use for internet access
I'm always a little concerned that if somebody looked at something illegal, it could come back to us. Other than manually recording names / addresses/ times of access, is there any software that could ask for this information and record it? The sort of thing you'd use for a wireless hotspot I suppose. Preferably open source / freeware? Thanks.... |

You might want to think about a content filter if you're concerned about it.
I was going to give dansguardian a try at some point...it might be worth a look for you.

You must be looking for a kind of employee monitoring software, like the one our company uses - ActyMac DutyWatch. This tool takes screenshots from time to time, records keystrokes, stores internet and application usage history, and so on. Unfortunately, I'm not sure if it can be used on a PC, as we have only Macs in the office.
