MSN Messenger
How do I get rid of this overly cumbersome latest version and resort to the older much simpler version?
I see nothing in the delete programs section to do this. No mention of MSN. I do see Windows live but am reluctant to delete that without some expert advice. Thanks for your thoughts. Jim B

you want to uninstall Windows Live Messenger, you can do this from Add/Remove programs in the control panel. You can install an older version of Messenger if you want from this site
http://www.oldversion.com/MSN-Messenger.html I will warn you that older versions of Messenger have a number of security vulnerabilities that have been patched in newer versions. |

I despised the new version of messenger, it was bloated and horrible on my XP machines and caused freezes on my W7 machine. So I uninstalled it by uninstalling Windows Live and installed an earlier version from filehippo.com.
Excellent thought I, not so great thought Messenger and refused to log me into the system unless I upgraded to the latest version.... I even tried the latest of the old versions and I couldn't log in.

Downloaded Trillian and installed today.
Issue: How do you delete history? I clear it and when I return it is still there. I sign out and log back on and all the chat I left is still there. Seems this will become a rather large file. |

Open Trillian. Click on Trillian tab at the top. Preferences. Activity History. Uncheck the items you don't want archived.
