Find all the email addresses on my HDD ?

I want to extract all the addresses -sent , incoming and CC etc
that are in my Outlook Express and my Thunderbird.
Hours of searching for software has not been successful .
Some programs are russian and for sure are going to export
all my info to them, others are stupidly expensive at $149 and the
demo won't save results. Some found zero. Most programs are for
spammers and harvest emails from websites etc which is
not what I want. Any ideas ? Thanks!

Not that it won't sent your information to the mother-computer but at least it's a known evil .. have you considered Google Desktop search : http://desktop.google.com/features.html

Well I found a Romanian program: Email Address Collector v5.0.91 for $30 that works fine.
Trial version does not let you save or copy results, only view.
It found over 4000 addresses on Thunderbird. Hope they weren't all exported
to some spammers list. I gave up trying to find freeware after about 8 hours of searching.

I hear you about Google desktop and privacy- going to uninstall it as it is too in my
face also. Yes I waited for it to index the drive.

Appreciate your help

Chris.

If you had disconnected the computer from the Internet, it couldn't have sent anything anywhere.

I thought of disconnecting temporarily, but decided that the
program would just keep trying till I was back online.
