IE 8 not working after ad removal

I just finished cleaning out a customers computer that had "lots" of adware and such. IE loads fine.... but will not connect to internet. I did the reset procedure and it still will not get on line. I know the computer is on the net becouse I reloaded IE 8 and it needs a connection to install. So as a troubleshooting measure I loaded FireFox 3.5 and it works just fine.....So I'am left to think the trouble is with IE 8. Any real way to uninstall IE and reinstall from scratch. Or is there something I'am missing.

Toshiba Laptop
Vista Home Premium
Currently IE 8

Thanks
Randy

Yes, uninstall it in add/remove programs and it will revert back to IE7.

glc,

thanks for the info....I reverted back to IE7.....and it is working much better, however now every 3rd or 4th time I load IE7 I get the connecting to site 209.85.225.103 and nothing happens. I close out the browser and retry and it connects just fine....any ideas?

Thanks again

Randy

Try a different start page. That IP points to Google.
