Cannot access some web pages

Hi,

I cannot access some web pages. I can access these same pages on a different computer using the same IP.

System - Windows 98, IE 6, 256 megs, 800Mhz

Things I have tried:

Removed all cookies and temp files
Removed Dial-up-networking, tcpip, Dial-up-adapter and reinstalled them
Removed anti-virus software
Removed Zone Alarm
I checked all settings in Security and Privacy to Low.
Downloaded OffByOne Browser and it has the same problem.
I also used system file checker and reinstalled a winsock file (can't remember which one-- it was one that Microsoft Knowledge base said to change)

This could have something to do with it but I'm not sure. Around the same time I installed Windows XP on a system on my network. I had a lot of trouble getting the network to work. (I do not like the wizards in XP -- I like to see what is changing)

Thanks for any help you can provide.

Cool

I had this problem with some sites when I upgraded to IE6. Mine had to do with medication I order online and accepting cookies. I got around it by going to Tools, internet options, privacy and clicking on edit for Web sites. Enter the site URL and click allow. I had to put in thre URL's before my medication site worked OK.

XP and IE6 do not have a java virtual machine - you have to download it from M$.

Thanks for replying. The machine with XP and IE6 open the sites fine. It is the machine with 98 and IE6 that I have the problem. At one time I could open them sites with this machine then something happen and now I can not.
