OE problem
I have 4 different pop mails going to Outlook Express. All work fine except one. I can receive e-mail but not send it with this account.
I get the following error message; Your server has unexpectedly terminated the connection. Possible causes for this include server problems, network problems, or a long period of inactivity. Account: 'NZ', Server: 'smtp.netzero.net', Protocol: SMTP, Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Error Number: 0x800CCC0F Anyone know what this means?

Make sure your SMTP is correct, then check to see if you can send mail through that account with a different program. If not, then its what the error says... "server or network problem". I'm not positive on how the email servers work, but if you can recieve but not send, I would assume the server is fine and that your SMTP might be incorrect.

check the smtp server, if you are on a dial-up from a local company the server would be something like mail.providersname.com (or .net).
if your on a dsl or cable modem you would look at something like smtp.wre.companyname.com (or .net) the wre in this case stands for "western reserve" (which is the server)diffrent isp's use diffrent servers. also you may want to use the change identity tool in outlook express, it can be found under 'file' then 'indentiy'. this option seperates youe email accounts so they all don't come to one in box. it works great to keep things organized. |
