Internet filter
Hello All
Does anyone know how to stop users accessing unsuitable websites (i mean porn, warez etc) using IE 5.5. I have Win 98 SE. I have tried changing the settings in the security settings of IE but that seems to stop all websites from being accessed. Thanks. |

You'd need to implement some type of server side filtering tool, and those are expensive and also defeatable by a knowledgable user.

Internet Explorer Content Adviser is overkill. But it is the most effective in keeping porn and those kinds of things off the screen. It works by having sites get approved, rather than trying to figure out if they should be eliminated.
You can try one of those Net Nanny programs. Nothing is perfect. If the kid is old enough to want to hawk around warz sites, then what you need is a program that will tell you where the kid has been! Last edited by RayH; 12-02-2001 at 03:11 PM. |
