Tab browsing
I downloaded a free MP4 to DVD creater software, and it brought along some junk.
It changed my homepage to Babylon or something which I have corrected. However when I USED to click on that next tab up top...it used to give me the option to open a bowser in private etc. or just open another site. Now when I click on the tab, it opens my home page again. How can I get that option back. I ran malwarebytes, and it did find three tracking trojans, I think. I am running Windows 7 Prof. and IE8 I also removed that MSN toolbar when I was in the add/remove programs section. Did that cause the problem ? Thanks, Mike

Tried resetting IE.
Tools > Internet Options > Advanced > Reset...

When you open a new tab, what is the default home page: is it "about:Tabs"?

I Googled my problem, and found the answer at lozaelec.blogspot.com
Here is the solution. I did it and everything is fine now. New Tab IE8 Hijacked When you click on a new tab, its meant to show "about:Tabs" by default If you get http://gg.blogpear.com/vscript/newTB.psc?&ub= this is how to repair it. Open Regedit and go to : HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\AboutURLs On the right pane double click on the tabs value and change it to : res://ieframe.dll/tabswelcome.htm. Mike |

Good stuff. Maybe somewhere near that registry key I'll find a way to get rid of my redirecting hijacker problem.
Thanks for posting. |
