Cant get online?
Hello all
I just got myself a used Lenovo IBM thinkpad T61, Just installed W7 Ultimate and for some reason at work this think just will not get online. Now my old computer rite next to it works fine. Using the same Ethernet cord and go to my new IBM doesn't work, There must be a setting wrong. I did go to CMD / IPCONFIG and got this info, In the screen shot you will also see it says Im online? http://i511.photobucket.com/albums/s...ntitled-10.jpg Any help with this would be greatly appreciated , FYI internet at home and Starbucks works fine on the IBM.... Thanks |

You need to expand the Network Adapters category and see if both your wireless and wired cards are shewing.

You say that this is at work - is it possible you may need to talk to the IT manager? The network may be locked down and it won't recognize "new" computers.

I had a similar issue with a brand new Lenovo I was prepping for a customer. Got it out of the box and no network. Turned it off, back again and then there was network. I'm assuming, however, that you've turned it on an off again several times. I wonder if it needs some of the Lenovo "bloatware" for the network to run.
