Thumbs down AT&T Broadband screws customers...

Go to AT&T Broadband screws customers and read about the fiasco. I'm glad I'm with Earthlink/Covad ADSL.

I've always been envious of my friend's Cox @Home vs. my Pacbell DSL. But right now, he's had problems just being online and was provided with a backup 56k line by Cox. I was thinking of switching, and if his service stays solid, I'll probably switch. Pacific Bell screwed me big time. They suck, as do most ISPs.

I would go for DSL if I could but it is not available in my area (and probably never will - my phone line is on fiberoptic). So, I have to stick with the AT&T cable Internet access for now. Speeds are very slow - I would say around 128 KB - sometimes I think even less. If it does not get better 'til the end of January I will look into wireless ($59.95 - 1 Mbps up/down) - only thing I hate is $199 installation fee and $350 for equipment.
