How about Earthlink I heard they are pretty good. I don't know what they charge though.

I have Earthlink at home. I like it. It is the only ISP that I could find that has more than one dial up # for any given area, and most of them aren't toll calls.
Their service is good and I really haven't had any problems connecting. They just raised their monthly charge to $21.95 unlimited usage. I still think that is a good price, considering the alternatives. |

if you have cable or dsl in your area I'd recommend that. if money is an issue my advice is all the more applicable as my wife and I live on a meager single income. take the extra $15 out of the food budget if need be. it will be the best $15 you spend each month. worth eating ramen for!

Don't know where your from, as you don't show it, but I would highly recommend TDS Metrocom. I had great dial-up service. Now I have their DSL, which is good too. Anyway, check them out...they even sent me chocolate for Christmas!

I have used two of the larger ISPs (AOL and CompuServe) and also have used some small local ISPs. I find the locals far superior. Prices are lower, service is better, and support is more personal and friendly. My ISP, today, sent me an email, just to inform me that they had a major power surge at their building and some subscribers MAY have noticed a slight performance falloff for about 10 minutes. They were appologizing for this slight falloff. You wouldn't see AOL do something like that (they'd blame the phone company, the power company, the weather, the spirit world).
If you are looking for a local ISP, try findanisp . Hope this helps. |
