Netscape Version 4.78

Every once in a while when i am on the internet an error message comes on screen saying, this program has performed an illegal operation and must be shut down. What can be causing this? I can tell you this, when this message appears more often it doesn't take long for my system to crash. What ends up happening is my VMM file gets corrupted and i end up reformating my drive.

Thanks

Can you give any more details on the error? Does it give a specific location of the error? When you reformat, are you always installing Netscape from the same files? Like do you have it on CD? Try using a different one. Or get Internet Explorer =)

Go into edit/preferences, and turn off all the 'smart browsing', 'auto update', and 'feedback' crap, then it should be fine.
