Cable problems, Please help!
I have cable internet and get constant lag spikes. My ping is always fine, but I tend to freeze alot with constant spikes, especially noticable during gameplay. I used to get them alot in the past. Then, about a month ago, they went away. Now, a few days ago, they have come back. I haven't changed my software, so I am sure it is not that. But, I also have not changed my modem, cable lines, or any other hardware. Can anyone think of anything for me to check in order to fix this?
Thanks! |

If you haven't changed anything then you could simply be a victim of fallout that's happening with cable at present time. Thus far I haven't been affected, but I know that will change on or before March 1, 2002. You might try going to www.pcpitstop.com and run the test there and see what's reported.

This may not help you with the reliability of your connection, but if you wish to tweak your cable connection afterwards, go to speedguide.net follow what is good for your OS.
There are registry tweaks and other advanced components but if you want simple do's and undos via patch look under 'patches' |
