I haven't seen your problem with IE6, but here is a list of things to do for any version of IE.

1. Clear the temporary internet files and cookies
2. Clear the History folder.
3. In the internet options (Tools Menu) Content Tab, uncheck Auto Complete.
4. In the internet options under the general tab, reset days to keep history down from 20 to say 2 or 3 or zero.
5. In the internet options under the advanced tab near the bottom put a check mark in;
Do not save encryted pages to disk

and

Empty Temporary Internet Files Folder when browser is closed

If this fails to speed it up

Defragment your hard drive.

If this does not speed it up, then go Start>Programs>Accessories>System Tools> Tools> Repair Internet Explorer.

Usually this is caused by the junk in the first part of this post.

When you install Internet Explorer again it will back up your files.
