Realplayer downloading...
Anybody any ideas how to actually DOWNLOAD files for watching in RealPlayer
This is the thing, I have a 56k modem, but don't mind downloading large files. So when my local Football Team release highlights of the game I have to watch the appaling 56k version If I could download the cable version, this would be brilliant (this is way too skippy on 56k) Even the 56k version skips sometimes, it's also annoying that you can't really do anything on the net whilst watching it Any ideas? Thanks,

if it is a streaming file, then, no you cannot actually download it. Real files for streaming are set up so that all you download is a small file (called a .RAM file) that POINTS to the actual .rm file.
i have not really tried this yet, but, if you can find the actual, hidden URL of the real file, you may be able to go directly to it and download and save it that way, tho, unless you admin the website, its usually not easy to figure out the true path to the file. i belive there are 3rd party products out there that will let you "record" a streamed file, but, that will not actually download anything different, it will just let you record the stream. |
