Netscape mail files?
Where does Netscape keep it's mail files? what are they called? On a user's PC Netscape is "broken" I want to delete it and reload but want to make sure I can save his mail.

mail files
Netscape keeps them under "C:\ProgramFiles\Netscape\Users\*username*\Mail"
You can just copy the entire "*username*" folder and put it back in under "C:\ProgramFiles\Netscape\Users\" after the new install. You can reinstall Netscape and it will keep all users preferences and mail intact. But if you want to delete and reinstall, then just copy the folder. Dave edit: this is for Netscape 4.X, not sure if 6.X is the same Last edited by dave1rr; 12-29-2001 at 12:23 PM. |

Easiest method would be to copy the entire 'users' directory over to another location, then after reinstalling copy it back.
That restores everything (mail, cache, bookmarks, etc.). |

For Netscape 6.x:
Windows\Application Data\Mozilla\Profiles\default\*___* Where *___* is a folder that has been created for each unique user profile. -Craig |
