Question SMTP Proxies

I'm on a LAN and am using AnalogX proxy, a freeware program for HTTP, FTP, socks4/5, SMTP, ect. I've never had to setup a SMTP proxy before, and can't find any documentation on it. I am able to set up a "profile" with the users name and server adress. I'm not sure how to set up my mail client to use it, I've tried setting it as the SMTP proxy port & adress, but I'm prolly' doing something wrong. Is it possible you could tell me how to do this, or how to do it in a freeware/shareware proxy program you have?

Thanks greatly,
Malcolm
