Who said Mac is friendly? Grr...

I downloaded the video from the LOTR music theme. It's in QuickTime.
I had QT 4 but it couldn't play the movie. A message telling that some codecs were missing (or something like that) kept appearing and you could hear the music but see no motion.

So an hour ago I tried to update my QT. The newest version is 5.0. I used the updater and it downloaded a new version of itself. Then it started downloading the main package, so to speak. But after downloading the 8.5 MB of this package a message appeared sayin' that the file was corrupted and the installation aborted.

I then went to the Apple site and tried downloading from there to the same result. I downloaded the new version of the installer and then the application but after downloading AGAIN the 8.5 MB the same message appeared. AAAARRRRGGGGHHHH!!!!!

Not only dat, but the browser window froze, a moments later I received a blue screen and an overflow error. The system did not crash, but I thought that it was better to reboot. I rebooted and here I am now, with no QT I can download.
Guess I'll have to buy a magazine to see it this QT 5 it's included in its CD.

Are you running W2K and dialup? Cause I have had some major problems with big downloads and 2k. I get the same thing you get, "download corrupt". Happened 3 times with DX8.1, and twice with some trial-version software. Finally figured I really didn't need DX8.1, and I d/led the trial software in chunks of about 1 meg each. That worked fine.

Thumbs up Thanx shecky981

The link you provided actually took me to the Apple web site again. But this time the installation worked!

Thank you so much for the help!
