Question Web Cams and posting software

Anyone ever use or setup a webcam? I'm just messing around and I've tried several trial and freeware programs that are supposed to take images from your camera taken at scheduled times and then post them to a web page. I can get the capture part to work easily enough but then I run into a problem with the posting. I have one software package that comes with a bunch of premade webpages and java scripts but none of them seem to work for me. The applications called Camshot and can be found at http://broadgun.com/index.htm
if anyone wants to take a look at it. Let me know if you findout anything.

Thanks
GeneC

For most of those progs to work, you need your own webspace, and the ability to FTP to it, with automatic overwriting. That is, the program takes the image, and uses FTP to put it on the web, in YOUR web space, and overwrites the image every few seconds, and automatically updates the HTML so the image refreshes.
There are 3rd party sites that allow this, as well as a couple of streaming video ones.
Check out NowEncoder and Tribecam on this page: http://www.cam-station.com/webmaster...software.phtml

reboot,
thank you. I have my own website, I'm running a webserver, the webcam is for my own personal use. The camshot software looked to be the best, the problem was with the java scripts. I've checked other peoples websites using the same software and it seems theirs don't work either. One of the main problems is the config console won't load. Is there anyone here that knows java?

look at the web cam32 software. its not free, but you can use it for
a 10 day trial period to see if it works for you. it will do what you want
and also does excellent on demand streaming video.
