AOL Problem

I typed a new name into my address book. when I went to send a letter out to the new name that I entered,I received a message saying. [ The address book is up dating please wait until the up dating is finished to make any changes.] It will not let me put any more new names in or let me retrieve any of the contact I have in my address book. I entered the the new address on 1-7-02, and i'am still getting a blocked message.
Any sugestions?

You're right, AOL is a problem

Seriously, Jenni is our resident AOLien, so she might have an idea. But have you send a request to AOL's tech support or tried any of their tech support forums? I remember using AOHell years ago and their tech guys in the forums were pretty good.

Yes, I posted the same request to AOL Tech Support and I am still waiting.
If anyone else has any ideas feel free...

Well, without getting into my personal opinion of AOL and the simplest solution (delete AOL, use AIM, and one of thousands of free Email addys), I'd say your best bet is to wait for their techs. They are the only one's who know what really goes on with AOL.

Well, first off, I have to say that I think my address book has exactly 2 names in it, so I'm certainly no expert when it comes to this!

However, I do know that AOL stores your address book online, like they do with your buddy list. Sounds to me like something somewhere is blocking the upload. I have no idea what that might be though. Firewall maybe?

If you know someone else that has AOL, try signing on to your account from their computer and updating your address book from there. If that works, then you know the issue is specific to your system.
