Web-hosting advice
Hello everyone
My web site is currently being hosted on Pair Networks. Pair have been good to me, but I am now looking for a better deal elsewhere, if I can find it. Right now, for US$6 I am getting this from Pair:
For a more detailed idea on my package, visit this page and view the FTP category. Sounds like a good deal? I don't know that much about web servers, except that when I pinged my website, I got a ping of 96ms. Now that is quite bad, considering a 0ms ping time for this package. I will soon be setting up CGI-scripts on my website, which increases the need for me to upgrade my account at Pair. If I do decide to cut off relations with Pair, can someone tell me how do I go about doing it. Consequently, please feel free to suggest to me other web-hosting companies. Uptime is a very important factor for me and one thing about Pair, my website has never been down. |

Lot of good hosts out there. You might try using tracert instead of ping to see if you can identify where the problem is. You can even email the results to Pair to see if they can help identify the problem. If you are happy with your host that is more than I can say for a lot of people. I believe that PCMech is also still hosted on Pair also.
