Setting up internet after computer build

After I build a new computer do I just plug in my cable modem, ethernet adaptor, etc. to get my cable internet to work? Or do I have to change some settings on my computer so the internet can connect through my modem? Thanks for the help.

You will need to set up some networking settings (ie specifying your default gateway) when installing broadband internet access.

This is generally done by the set up software that you go when you intially installed your broadband service.
