zone alarm
I've been using zone alarm with a cable modem for a while now without any problems, but lately when I leave the computer idle and it goes into it's lock mode, I unlock and try to connect it doesn't work. I have to manually go into the ip config and renew the IP. Before, I could get home from work, unlock and open browser or email. Also, now it seems if I wait about five minutes after unlock, the modem will find an IP. Not a big deal but it was a little quicker to just unlock and connect. Any ideas on this one?
Thanks |

dtro,
Go to the Security Settings in ZA. Click on the Advanced tab. Under "Other Computers" you should have a DHCP server listed. This is shown when you run "winipcfg" under "more info". At least that's what my cable provider told me and it seems to work. |
