I'm not sure if it would improve performance of your browser to delete the cookies. If it does, it won't be very much. Cookies store information about you on your computer. They generally are a good thing for you because they remember stuff about you so you don't have to re-enter it every time you go to a site. Other cookies are just there to see how often you come back to X site. What gives cookies a bad reputation are companies like doubleclick that use them to track you around via their add banners (although they recently said that they will be stopping that). If you wan't to get rid of those lame one, download Lavasoft Ad-Aware and it will find them and delete them for you.

Cool

Cookies is what enabled you to post this without signing in again. If you delete your cookies, then you will need to be reintroduced to each site you visit. I had a problem with email when I first got cable and I let a uninformed tech talk me into deleting my cookies. First time back here, had to log in. Same with other sites that remembered me from stored cookies. My problem with the email had nothing to do with cookies, had to do with time zone setting in my data/time.

I don't think that deleting cookies will improve perfomance, only deleting temp internet files and history files will slightly improve ie performance.

Cookies are in c:\windows\cookies, the name contains the url of the website, check them and delete what you don't need, so you keep needed cokies only.

Actually deleting your TIF files may actually be a detriment to your performance. Images, HTML, Stylesheets are all cached there so that they don't have to be loaded every time you visit a site. But if your TIF folder gets too large it can be a detriment to your performance. My advice is to leave it alone.
