I recently switched to cable modem. In general my connection seems very fast (pages openly instantly, etc). I have tested my download rate at pcpitstop and I am consistantly at 3000+ kps. The strange thing is when I download any files, the reported transfer rate is usually only 40 to 60k. This is almost as slow as it was using dial up! Does anyone have any idea what the problem could be?
Thanks in advance) Kinen |

Where are you downloading files from, and what type are they?

Ain't no way that is almost as slow as dialup, where you probably got 4-5 on a good day. My InoculateIt updates come at 75 in about 8 seconds. Dialup took several minutes. I Can download a new Explorer in 3-4 minutes versus over 2 hours with dialup. Kick back, relax and enjoy the 3000.

40-60 is too slow???(I wish )At work, I can't get on WinMX faster than ~25K on DSL- that's the good d/l's |
