I'm using internet explorer 6.0 on a cable modem (road runner) Usually everything loads reasonably quickly when I use the internet but recently I've noticed that when I download something it may start out fast but then seem to stall or freeze at a certain percent even though it says my transfer rate is fast. This has happened on several occasions on different sites including some performance test sites like toast.net. Any suggestions would be appreciated. thanks in advance

Could be any number of things, but roadrunner is a mess right now with the switch to AOL's network.
Run a traceroute to the sites you're having trouble with, see if you get any timeouts (asterisks). c:\>tracert www.pcmech.com ..for instance. Run it from a dos prompt, see what turns up. |
