Help with html code
I helped a friend place an add at cycletrader.com for a custom bike he won from Penthouse.
We did a fairly detailed description of the bike and I tried to use some html code to seperate the information into a neat fashion (similar to a listing on ebay) but it doesn't seem to accept this. Is there anything else I can try? Take a look at the add for a better indication: http://www.cycletrader.com/addetail.html?1911285 Thanks - it would really mean a lot to my friend.

OK...im going to ask you a question and then answer it based on what i THINK the answer will be:
When you upload the information to the site, does the site provide an empty text box that you then either cut & paste text into, or type into? then hit "submit"? very much like this forum we are on, so to speak? The reason i ask this is that sites like this run off of databases and when you "submit" text/pictures/whatever you are only populating a field in the database that the webmaster designates. The database then pushes this data to the website in a preformatted, predictable way. in other words, all you can upload is text, not code. These forum sites like PC Mech allow some limted code to make it more interesting, but unless that site specifically allows you to do so, you will not be able to format it the way you want to. |

Yes, all I get is a text box. I thought maybe this was so but on eBay all you get is a text box and it allow code. I guess ebay's is like PCMech and allows some code.
Anyway I edited it somewhat to make it a little easier to read. What do you guys think of the listing? Is it fairly easy to read? I tried to use commas to seperate the details but it wouldn't even take that so I had to use periods. Pretty cool - how would you like to sit on a $150,000 bike? At least that is what the manufacture lists that it is worth. ![]() http://www.an-stuff.com/puresteel/moreinfo.asp?BikeID=9 |
