Question Network Settings

Just to make sure. I have Win98SE, DSL (Pacbell), Linksys router, and a SMC1244X NIC.
I connect with great speed, but I have something wrong in Network. When I turn on my pc, it asks for my Password for Network. Cancel or OK doesn't keep it from popping up again.
Thank you,
Carl

Right click on Network Neighborhood->Properties and change "Client for MS network" to "Windows logon." Then, press F3 and search the Windows directory for *.pwl files and delete them all. It will ask you for password when you reboot, just don't enter anything and click OK. That should fix the problem. Hope that helps.

Carl, the doc is right, except I didn't fool with the .pwl part - didn't need to. Boys are happier now, since they were always clicking "ok or cancel" anyway. Hadn't entered a pw for the longest, but the annoyance was there.

DrZaius and Sarge,
Got rid of the password request by just changing to Logon. F3 doesn't do any thing. No popup window or anything.
My problem is solved.
Thanks to you both.
Carl

F3 opens the "Find Files or Folders" window, but Windows Explorer has to be open.
