How do you erase memory on subject searches?

Hi I'm sure everyone knows this one, but I get tired of Internet Explorer reminding me of which searches I've searched each time I type in a word is there a way to delete the word search so I don't build such a long list? ....Oh and I notice it on other search engines too like dogpile and excite and each one seems to remember which words I've used do you have to search for them too and erase them some how?

Send a message via Yahoo to BFD Deadeye
In IE, click Tools/Internet Options/Content/Auto Complete.

You can either delete the words one by one by using your delete key, or you can go to Tools...Internet Options...Content...Auto Complete. From there you can either clear the lists or turn that function off entirely.
