Internet speed measurement
I installed a new Creative modem last night and hooked up to the Internet this morning. When I looked at my connection speed, it said 50666bps. When I hooked up using my older computer, it would usually connect at 28k. What is the relationship between 28k and 50666bps. Am I getting a faster connection?
Thanks. |

You are CONNECTING at a different speed, but that doesn't mean you will get faster TRANSFER RATES. Any number of reasons for this increase, watch your transfer speeds when you download files. In a perfect world, 50666 should yield about 6.3 KiloBytes of data second.

You're using a different modem than before, right? All the pieces fit, so it gets a 50+ versus a 28.8.
