Newsgroups....How long before new posts are added?
Hey everybody,
My friend programmed a newsgroup program and wanted me to test it. I know very little about them. I tried the program and it didn't work. I then tried Outlook Express and posted a test post. I still got nothing. How long does it take for them to show up, like 1 minute, half an hour, or a day? After I post with outlook, do I have to hit send all? How do I refresh the posts? I am unsubscribing then subscribing again, but I don't know if it's checking for new posts. Could that be the problem? Could it be the server I'm using? We were talking about newsgroups in school and I can't seem to get anything to work. Any suggestions would be appreciated! |

Yeap, depends on how often and when the server you're posting to is updated. Some are once a day, some are once an hour, just depends on who runs it.

I'm using the one from RoadRunner. Do you know of a better, faster one?

A fast free news server? Good luck, I don't know of any
. There are subscription news server companies like usenetserver.com and easynews.com, but if you're not worried about binary groups stick with RoadRunner, it's free at least.
