'Unable to connect to MySQL on localhost'
Hi,
Having problems with MySQL, I got myself Apache setup with PHP. The forums I installed on my machine worked at first (I'm just playing - not actually planning on using this for a proper server) However, I cannot now connect to the MySQL databases (In ANY programs - Web browser or MySQL manager) Any ideas, what have I done wrong here? ![]() Thanks,

Is this Windows or 'Nix based MySQL?
If 'Nix, what happens when you type: mysql at the command line? If that doesn't work, then try mysql -u root -pPASSWORD. You can leave the password option off and it will prompt you for one.

Problem now solved. Changed it so it connected to "." not "localhost" so it doesn't use TCP/IP Strange, strange
