Does anyone use Opera?
I tried Opera a few years ago on an ancient computer with a dial up connection and was unimpressed. I am thinking about trying it again with my new computer and cable. I heard it is outstanding. Do you lose anything over IE6 which I use now. Can I use my current bookmarks? I am always a little afraid of installing a new browser. The last time I tried that trainwreck Netscape, when I uninstalled it, it screwed everthing up. Is it worth a try?

Newer versions are much nicer, yeah
.I'd use it over IE if that's the only choice I had. |

Opera 6 is great. The free version has ads on it but they are all the way up in the corner, so not too bad. You can import Opera, NS and IE bookmarks, favorites.

Same here, I'm using it to post right now.
In windows I dont see that much of a gain in actual internet speed, but the actual program is faster. But Opera in linux is FANTASTIC! Everything I download with it is ALWAYS (somehow) over 500kb a second, while IE sometimes gets lucky. |

Opera works for me as a change of pace. Use IE 6 mostly.

Ok, I have been messing with opera here for a little while. Anyone know how to put my ie bookmarks into this thing. I was hoping I could copy and paste my favorites folder in to the opera folder but I cant even find a folder with opera's bookmarks.

Go to File...Import... and you will see an option for "Internet Explorer Favorites."

I am using Opera 6 now, I love it. I still use IE, but I try to use
Opera Exclusively. I have very few site problems, but there are a few that Opera does not read well. Steve |
