difference between outlook express and microsoft outlook?
i have microsoft express that I got with IE6 and i have microsoft outlook that i got with office xp. can someone tell me the difference between the two? I use outlook express but haven't used microsoft outlook. also, when i click on the mail icon on the bar at the top of IE6 it goes to Microsoft outlook. Is there anyway to change that so it goes to outlook express? thanks for help.

The main differences are that Outlook has more features (i.e. Calendar, Notes, Tasks, etc.).
Setting IE6 to automatically use Outlook Express as your default email program, try the following: Open IE6 Go to the "Tools" dropdown menu Choose "Internet Options" Choose the "Programs" Tab Look for the "E-mail:" section and you'll see a dialog box with a dropdown menu... In this dropdown menu, you should have at least two options (Outlook & Outlook Express)... Choose "Outlook Express" Choose "Ok" when done to close and save your "Internet Options" Now, when you attempt to open your email from within IE6, it should automatically open Outlook Express. HTH |

If I had Outlook, I would use that instead of Outlook Express. Express is a slimed down version of Outlook. The address and calendar feature available in Outlook would be enough for me to make Outlook my preference.

yea, outlook is much more sofisticated. outlook express is used solely for e-mail, where as outlook is more like a personal organizer.

you can do that by going file-import and export. here, you can choose to export to a specified file. i always use personal folder file (.pst). you can select the folder you wish to export and give it a name. i stick to a simple naming convention: inbox.pst for inbox, contacts.pst for contacts. after that, you can mail it to the person (that seems sort of odd, when you think about it), or you can save it on a disk and tranpsport it that way.

The security in Outlook 2002 is FAR SUPERIOR to Outlook Express.
