Some web pages I go to I always get "The Page Cannot Be Displayed".
Example: When I go to monster.com and click "Search Jobs" I always get "The Page Cannot Be Displayed". It works from my other PC. I must be my setup but I can not find the answer. The working PC is Win XP and is sharing the DSL on my home network. The problem PC is Win 98 (not SE). Both PC are using Internet Explorer. The network is working as I can share files, printer, and other web pages. Please help. Thak you. |

Sounds like failed DNS queries to me. Go into tcp/ip properties in control panel/network, specify your ISP's DNS servers, see if it fixes it.

My DSL provider, SWBell, said that DNS should be disabled.

I also use SWBell DSL, their tech support to put it bluntly are morons, and many of their DNS servers unreliable.
If you check the SBC Forum at www.dslreports.com/forums there's a list of alternate DNS servers you can use. |
