Question FTP and passive mode?

I'm trying to access my web site (f2g.net) so I can start building it. The FTP server won't let me in while in "Passive Mode". I've tried to access it both with, and without my router (which is the only thing that I can think of that's causing the problem). Can anybody out there figure out how I can access F2G.net? If not, does anybody out there know of a free host that supports cgi and perl? I want a site that would allow me to install Movable Type. Thanks.

You need to take your FTP client out of passive mode. Go into the options or preferences and turn off passive mode.

I wish it was that easy. I don't have the client in passive mode. That was the first thing I thought of.
