fqpissed IE Browser freaking out,,, Java ??

I have to questions I need help with.
First one is for somereason, I cannot view Java applets anymore?
They are just not showing up. I tryed changing my internet options so that the java options are all checked and vice versa..
Whats wierd is I dont recollect doing anything that would make it do this. Its IE5.0... Any help on this would be greatly appreicated.

Also something new has been that when My browser first opens Im getting this new box on the left hand side open up that was never there before either. and then this pop up opens with a huge browser window that cannot be closed unless you control alt delete some sort of crap search popup...
I dont think that this has anything to do with my Java not showing up... but if you have any tips on what the heck is going on here or if it sounds familar....let me know...
Thanks

if you download adaware from download.com, that might take care of the popup window. but be careful, if you're using kazaa or something, removing some of the stuff that a scan picks up will render those programs inoperable. i don't know about the java stuff, though.

For the java problem, try downloading and reinstalling java runtime environment.

For the java problem download and install build 3805 of virtual machine and then see if applets load.

For the pop-up problem, can you give us more info about what it is? What operating system do you have? What are you 'ending task' on when you ctrl+ alt +del? Also, tell us what all is listed when you do the 3 finger salute.

I use this Free browser , which has a built in pop up stopper .
Uses very little resources & is as good as any other browser .
Intergrates quitely into your system , does not take over . you can still run your normal browser , if you wish .
