' access denied 'to Eudora email attachment
I don't know what I'd do without you guys !
My latest problem: Recently tried to open an email attachment and got a message "Access to specified device, file, or path is denied." It will open if I open some Windows program like Paint or Imaging, and go File > Open> Eudora> attach>filename . I recently changed the email account ISP and made some basic changes in the Eudora setup but don't think I changed anything that could affect opening a *.jpg attachment. As always - thanks a lot for any ideas. Chris. |

Is this the only jpeg you can't open, if so, I wouldn't worry about it. If you can't open any jpegs, then we will have to figure something out.

Thanks ! No this was not the only one. Others would not open
by clicking on the icon at the bottom of the message. Another one opened like it was zoomed about +1000%. ie. just a whole lot of small dots even viewing it at 25% size. Other people who it was sent to, c.c'd ,said they received it fine. |

What program do you have set as your default jpeg viewer. I have had this problem when I had AGFA photowise as my default viewer. Try changing viewers until you find one that works.

PMich,
The message seems to indicate a problem in either the access priviliges or the path. Since you can open the jpg when you select another viewer, it sounds like a path problem. That could be the path to the file itself or the helper apps. I would double check the paths specified for both since you recently made changes in Eudora. Good luck. The Old Man |

Thanks guys !
File type came up as "~ no program associated with this file ~" Must have got deleted somehow. Solved it with : My computer>view> folder options>file types>Jpeg>Edit>edit> browse>(insert name of your favourite photo viewer) Cheers, Chris. |
