Exclamation black background

ok i need help. my cousin wants me to make him a web site with lots of pictures on it...simple right? yeah. i just made a link to each picture so you can click and see the picture in ur browser and then press back to see the index page again. now he wants all the backgrounds black. the only way i know to do this is make a page for each image with a black background and the pic embedded. easy enough, but there are quite a few pictures up already. is there an easier way???

Hmm, a neater way would be to display the image in a JavaScript popup window in front of the page, that way you can keep several open and you can change the settings of the picture page. I wrote up some code that should work.

Glad it worked. Make sure you use all of the code from the second text file I used since I made some minor changes from the first.

Under...
Quote:
picWin.document.write('</html>');
Add...
Quote:
picWin.document.write('<center><a href="javascript:window.close();">Close Window</a></center>');
Hope that helps.

Send a message via Yahoo to Eaglefeather
You will also find scripts for this very thing at both of the following sites.

http://www.dynamicdrive.com/

http://www.webpage-tools.com/index.asp

I found a couple of good scripts at both sites and have been playing with them. Both place link buttons for the images either at the top of the page or on the side. You just place a back ground, then add the link to your photos. One of them requires you to actually click on the link to get the photos to start showing. The other works on a mouse over technique. As long as the mouse is over the link the photo is displayed, move the mouse down to the next or away from the links and the photo closes.

Both sites have lots of different scripts so it is a good place to bookmark for the future.

Mind you by the sound of it Dr Zaius's script sounds more like what I have been looking for. I have downloaded and will give it a shot.

Thanks Dr Zaius.
