IE new window size
Hi All,
Kinda new here (I usually hang out in PC Hardware). When I open a new window in IE, it is very small. It used to open full screen. My neighbor has the same problme, but worse. His new window shows only about 1/4 of the title bar and nothing else. How can I correct this and or adjust it's opening size?? Thanks TwoRails |

It's a bug in IE that was never fixed. The only solution is to open a new IE window, maximize it, and then close it. The next time you open a new window it should be maximized.

Hi DrZaius,
I had given that a shot already but it doesn't want to work. I'll see if I can find anything in the Registry.... Wish me luck... Thanks! TwoRails |

TwoRails,
Open your IE window. Using your mouse, stretch the screen to where you want it. The next time you open it, it will be maximized to where you left it. Carl |

Hi Carlgif,
That works, but only during the one session, meaning if I close IE and then reopen it, I'm still stuck with the little box. I spent a while trying to hack the Regestry and found only one thing related, and that was window size. I deleted the entry, but IE simply recreated it with the same little box. Thanks, TwoRails |

Sorry TwoRails,
I stretched mine 6 months ago and it has stayed the same. There may be something else that can be done. Did you stretch the screen and then go browsing or did you shut down IE right after you stretched the screen? We'll get it fixed. Carl |

Hi tworails,
Try this. It forces Windoze to recalc the window size. http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/ans...m#window_small HTH The Old Man |

Hi Carlgif,
I re-read my orig post and I should have been more clear: Yes, the stretch trick did / does work for opening a New window (such as with Ctrl-N). What still does Not work is right clicking on a link and then clicking on Open in New Window. I did not make it clear that it was a two part problem. Humble apoligizes ...... TwoRails |
