Recently browser links won't work .
When I click on a link which opens a new browser window all I get is a blank window. The small windows that open with some pages (either giving more info or adverts) are also blank. Links in the same window work OK. I have tried re-installing Explorer but no change? If I copy the link/shortcut to the address the browser goes there. |

Go into the IE properties, click first on the security tab and check to accept cookies, and then set the security level to medium. Then go to the advanced tab and restore the defaults. And finally under the Programs tab click on reset web settings.

when you say blank screen, what do you mean? it's just white with no text? or does it say unable to display page?

Michael,
Try the suggestions described here: http://www.mvps.org/inetexplorer/ans...#blank_windows There are a couple of possibilities and it may be off-base but it is worth trying. Hope that helps. The Old Man |

Run the following commands from start/run. Run each line individually. After each run, you should see a short message stating the command was successful. The first command is the one most likely to work.
regsvr32 Urlmon.dll regsvr32 Shdocvw.dll regsvr32 Shell32.dll (only applicable to Windows ME, Windows 2000 and XP - if using an earlier operating system, run regsvr32 shdoc401.dll) regsvr32 Oleaut32.dll regsvr32 Actxprxy.dll regsvr32 Mshtml.dll This part seemed to do the trick. After running all six I clicked on your forum link that you suggested and it worked. Previously it just gave me a blank window. Thanks very mucho. Mike |
