Dial up connection ?
Now that I've upgraded to IE 6. Whenever I reboot my computer I get the blasted dial up connection prompt first thing.
I don't necessarily always want to go online every-time I turn my computer on. (usually do but, you know) So I need to click cancel to proceed. How do I adjust this back to the way it was? yeah I know, get highspeed lol, but for now... Thanks in advance Richard |

when you go tools-internet options and click on the connections tab, does it say dial whenever a network connection is not present?

are there any programs in your start up that might be trying to access the internet?

Yes there is one program (internet call waiting program that detects calls) However this was set up exactly the same prior to the upgrade.
Anyway I just changed things to "never dial a connection" on the connections tab, then put a dialup connection icon on my desktop. It now works the way I want it but still doesn't identify the problem that caused this in the first place. The settings in msconfig are the same as before the upgrade too. thanks anyways Richard |
