Yep, been using this RC1 for a while, its really great. I've found a few crash bugs but looking forward to 1.1 final. I've switched completely from IE to Moz recently, I love it. Check it out.

You can install right over 9, I've done it both ways. When you uninstall 9, it will save your pref's bookmarks etc...

Acutally, it's not 1.1 yoda, it's just RC1 for 1.0. 1.0 final should be coming out later this week or next. The current FINAL build is still 0.9.9 if I'm thinking correctly.

Just a tip.... I don't like how big the default skin is up top.... If you go to view, themes, get more themes and DL the one Called LO-FI. It's great, small, and efficient. Also, I dump the personal toolbar, sidebar, and component bar. Have fun!

Every time I try the latest Mozilla, DL says it messes up her precious Netscape. I've never had it longer than 1 day each time to iron out any bugs. Desirous of peace & tranquility, guess I'll pass on this latest build.

Sarge, Mozilla and Netscape don't get along well together -- even though NS6.x is based on the Mozilla (gecko) engine, the two don't like each other.

Tell DL Mozilla is a much better option and to ditch NS now -- Mozilla's even Eart Day friendly in that it's open-source.

I have been informed, with hands on hips, that NS is the user's choice. Said she's too set in her ways to change browsers, but would change husbands IF NECESSARY.

LMAO sarge !!
I can relate to the hands on hips, tapping of the foot thing....
you think DL would like to 'expand her horizons' a little.
But I wouldn't push it if she's talking tradeing you in,did you remind her that you'll provide her with the best support available ?

I've got to say I really like this first 'official' release. I really like the tab option -- rather than new windows open, just other tab. And I like the security feature in the compose window for e-mail. Very nice. But is it too much to ask for a spell checker?

I hate to tease Sarge but yes audiyoda the Tab thing is 'the bomb' as my daughter says! The more I use this release the more I like it

Yeah, I'm thinking DL needs to expand her thinking -- this is one slick browser. I've not been able to make it crash -- It still doesn't seem to like Java, but neither do I. It handles Javascript all right,, just not Java.

And I can't seem to get the shockwave plug-in to work -- the Flash plug-in works fine, but shockwave's a no-go.

Oh well -- I remember IE v.2 that I had to use when I was a Fourm Manager at MSN -- that thing sucked the bigbopper. For a v. 1 release, this browser cooks.

YODA: I just installed shockwave for RC1 right now. Heres what you need to do. Download the installer for Netscape, then run it, and make sure MOZILLA 1.0 is selected on the list. Then just let the installer go, and it should work for you.

Dumb question,,
I went to get the installer and on the netscape site I got this >
"You are using Mozilla 5.0 for Windows
Plug-in Manager is optimized for Netscape browsers. Download the latest Netscape browser now."
Is this what I should download OcrMonkey ?

Well when I did it from shockwave.com, it said it could not find a compatible plug in, so then I DL'ed the NS one, and installed it locally to the moz.

The other thing I can't understand is that while I was using RL0.9 I had full Quicktime, MediaPlayer and RealOnePlayer integration. Now I've lost all of that -- I can re-install QT and ROP, but MP seems a bit drastic....sheesh.

Don't get me wrong, I am still loving this browser. Still no crashes and faster than IE6 head-to-head (WinXP Pro).

If this is anything to go by the good old days of not using IE are back!

It is incredibly clean .. including, not having to use a setup file .. can still just unzip and run from ../bin/ directory!

OK, got it. I'll use only for surfing.

BTW, the 10 mb download took 1 min, 7 seconds. How did I ever use 56k?

Well, I did it again. I put Mozilla on 2 pc's that had NS 4.79 and all seemed stable. So late last night, after DL went to bed, I put it on her pc. She's running the NS 4.61, and everything seemed stable. I didn't mention to her that I put Mozilla on hers.

Typical Monday morning came and at 8:30 my pager goes off. Heart thumping, breathing fast, I notice it's from DL. She never pages me that early UNLESS there is a problem. I began wondering what could have happened - car, garage door gone kaput, I forgot my snacks, etc. No biggie so I call.

Fellers, I've mentioned before I've seen the little lady mad a total of twice in 28 years. I think she said a cuss word long ago, but she says "no". She began by saying NS was giving her "illegal operations", something it never does. After I mumble a few "uh, uh, uh" she asks what I did to it. What makes her think I did something? When I fessed up about the Mozilla, but it's ok on the other pc's bit, that did it. When I told her how cute she was when mad, all I got was "you better come home for lunch and fix it".

It's now gone, NS works and was threatened about being grounded from PCMech. Perhaps some flowers will help, but fellers, no more Mozilla for me.
