internet password

Anyone else here (I hope) have this problem when I setup my internet account I`m usen Win XP BTW it will add it`s own password in the password box(Internet options-connections-settings) BUT if I don`t add a password I have to enter it every time I log on it`s not a real problem BUT it would be nice to just click in the IE icon and -away ya go-

And if anyone asks YES the dailup is set to default and the radio button is checked (always dail my default connection)

thank for any help

When you set up the connection, did you check the 'Save password' box?

Much like 98SE, when you click on your connection, you have the fields to type in your username and password and just below is a little checkbox with 'Save password' or something like that.
Someone correct me if I'm wrong.

Boy do I feel stupid Yes I did check the box the said "Sav password" then the next time around theres a long set of ******** that I can`t figure out what it is I deleted my dailup and started over plus I deleted my win XP logon account and started over on that to but it still does the same thing if I save my own pass word for my log on XP will replace it with its own !!!!

And I also tried setting up win XP with the same pass and username as my dailup and this didnt work also

thanks for all the help anyways

I noticed that too, but the ************** seems to be the right password, whatever, or however long, it is.
Did you actually try connecting with the too-long-incomprehensible-winXP password?
