Angry Fire hotmail problem

I cannot access my hotmail when using Internet Explorer. I get a white page with black printing telling me the site is unavailable. Yet when I change to Netscape I have no problem.

So, what dumb thing am I doing wrong?

5)Check whether the 'use a proxy for your lan' checkbox is checked or not.If yes, uncheck it. Then click ok exit.

It used to be troubles at Yahoo mail w/Internet Explorer were related to JAVA and Microsoft counterfeit JAVA. Yahoo used pur JAVA and Mickeysoft's corrupt version would cause IE problems.

fqpissed Here's the answer to my problem

IE requires 128-bit encryption to get into sites like emails. Here's the kicker: versions prior to 5.5 need a patch to get the 128-bit capability installed. In my case, I HAD ver 5.5 but did not have the 128-bit for some reason. It was supposed to be automatically 128-bit. And of course, the patches offered by MS do not work on ver 5.5 because it is supposed to be already there. Typical catch 22.

My solution was to install IE 6 even though I have heard bad things about it. Now all is well, I think.
