Help needed: I can surf but not post a message

I’m hoping someone can solve this mystery regarding an Internet problem which is driving me nuts.

I’m a regular visitor to the Internet Movie Database. I’ve been posting messages on the forums for a couple of years but last week the forums started to run exceptionally slow and when I tried to post a message on the forums the thing ground to a halt, the blue bar at the bottom moved excruciatingly slow then I got an error message saying “The site may be experiencing difficulties or I may need to adjust my settings” which made me think the site was doing some maintenance or something as everywhere else I visit is working fine, including this site. When I asked if anyone else was having problems posting, everyone said everything was fine for them.

I then tried another number to log on to the internet (Dial-up connection) and when I went to the Imdb forums all was working fine which means the fault is with me and not the site in question.

How come my normal connection will allow me to do everything as normal and at my usual speed with the one exception of posting at one particular site?

I’ve even tried to full reformat just in case I had a problem with my PC.
