Help me find an old thread

I'm trying to find a thread from two or three months ago (plus or minus) that discussed a registry hack to speed up one's internet connection. Seems like the hack was from the UK and in involved adding a couple lines to the registry. I had to reinstall my system and I'd like to make that registry change because it really made a big difference in download speeds but I can't find it. Can you help me?

Thank you

Yes, that's the registry tweak I was talking about. Thank you DrZaius (how do you pronounce that anyway?) and Carlgif. I always know where to come for help.

Thanks again, Tiffany

DUSTIN,
It really works. I use DSL and can see much faster loading.
People with dial-up really see a difference.

The registry tweak does not speed up your connection, however it over rides the Windows default which is slow.

Someone with more knowledge can explain that part much clearer.

"How does it work?
Internet Explorer 4 & 5 have been designed to comply with Hypertext Protocol 1.1. This dictates that a web browser should draw no more than two stream of data at any one time. However, your browser is capable of getting many more times that, and so if you were to increase the number of streams that it is looking for, you will vastly speed up the whole process."

My way of interpreting it is typical Texan:

If you barely crack the door open you'll get a little fresh air breeze. If it's a windy day, open the sucker all the way and let a bigger blast of air in. Makes sense to me...
