Angry Fire Does Anybody Here Use a Special Spam Program?

I've about had it. Spam has gone crazy with 20 to 30 ads a day in my email.

I've been reading about Spam Gard, Spam Killer, etc.

Does anybody use them and/or do you have any recommendations?

Carl

Nope, I just setup a filter in my e-mail. I don't filter the entire address, but usually the domain name without the .com or whatver. Another way is to use only part of the name. I used to get a lot of spam from soandso@netpaloffers.com or soandso@freeoffers.com or soandso@whateveroffers.com, so I set the filter to nuke anything with the word OFFER in the address.

Hal,
Thanks for the help.
The darn filters have always been alittle confusing to work with.
I've entered a couple bad offenders,ie, MissInkDrop and AwardShopping. They are good for 3-4 a day themselves.
I'll see if it works.
Thanks again,
Carl

BTW, Got a new one while I typed this message.
Guess I'm suppose to claim my free 2-way radios.

This is the reason I use hotmail.com, email.com, and excite.com It takes a special person and reason to get my ISP email.

confused,
You have me confused. Every web-type email I've tried to sign up for requires my email address to send me "confirmation" to use it.

Really? Hotmail doesn't, mail.com didn't i don't believe

I don't understand really why they need an email address as you may not already have one...

(In my experience, they ask for another email for them to bomb with junk, but you don't HAVE to give it)

Send a message via AIM to Xayd
Yeap, if it's gotten that bad the address is ruined.

Anything that requires an email to sign up for, use a fake hotmail account.

For personal e-mail, and I don't have a whole lot of it, Hotmail is just fine. It organizes all my spam into a single folder, which I can rapidly delete.

I had to give up my Yahoo box. I dealt with one VCD distributor in Malaysia. The VCDs came in three days, so did the spam!

Carl, I recently switched to the below for specific mail (PCMech notification, personals, etc). I use Yahoo for EBay or for any junk they may get passed around. Nowadays, you gotta have a different email for different things, at least in my house.

This one is lightning fast and NO ads:

Here's their "spamming policy" :

I've been extremely pleased thus far.

I signed up. They sure wanted to know alot about me.
At least they didn't ask for my current email address.
